QR Mobile Reader

QR Mobile Scanner

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah, blessing and peace be upon our prophet Mohammed, his family and his companions. After that,

I am not an expert in Oracle Apex, but i was strongly motivated  to perform this task.  In regards to creating the QR Code, it is so easy, but scan or read it...! It was so weird to me and to most of Oracle Apex developer experts

QR Code, is a picture we can use Java script and css to code e.g. the related item serial or any information needs to be coded. But, the challenge resides in answering this question?

How can we read the QR code directly from the mobile without any barcode reader device?

i spent time looking for a solution to this task the solutions i found it was rare and ambiguous to me as an ex-oracle developer expert has nothing to do with Java Script codes. After intensive search finally, Allah swt guide me to ask Eng. Amr Abdeen  who gave me the first step to start and guided me indirectly, but his guidelines  helps me a lot in accomplishing a mission of one of most my oracle apex dreams.

    Task Definition:

The task solves a problem of  wasting time and effort of  Sale  Representative who distributes some goods using only with his mobile and private car to his clients. While spending much time in manually filling out the concerned client's data into the sales invoice and confirm issuing it.

   Task Solution:

The know-how of this task mainly resides in using

 QR Mobile Reader Plug-in

in-which the Oracle Apex application Camera is used to

  • Scan the QR Code  item directly by using the mobile.
  • Retrieve the item code or serial no. into a QR Code text box.
  • Implementation is in Shaa Allah, the next solution step that we are going to perform in the next blog to get the rest of related data item e.g. client name, item name and the sales representative's name into a report or form.

I'll assumed that you have already created a free work space, logged into it and have already created an application Then, all you need is to follow these steps...

  1.  Download the plugin; the zipped  file and extract it.

  1. Open the folder, read the README file for more information on setup and demo.
  2. Open your own oracle apex application
  3. Then, import the  following file region_type_plugin_apex_qr_code_scanner.sql  from the plugin folder into your Oracle Apex application as follow...

      • Click Import Export/Import Button on the right side of the page.

      • Click Import Button.

  • The following Import page will be displayed
  • Click choose file button.

  • Select the high lighted file called  region_type_plugin_apex_qr_code_scanner.sql

  • The .sql  file you have just choosed, is now uploaded.

  • Click next, you are going through the import wizard steps.

  • The following page will be displayed.
  • Click next button.

  • The following page will be displayed.
  • Then, click Install Application button.

  • Consequently, the following report will be displayed with all the imported plug-ins i have already tried before, "Al-Hamdu Lelleah", finally the last one works pretty good.

  • Hence, the report's third row is our concerned QR code plug-in.

Now, there should be two apex pages one to input data. Then second is to retrieve or  display data.  In Shaa Allah, the next coming blog, i am going to implement this new technology into two Oracle apex page. This is really very important link you should recognize to be able to use this technology between The involves demonstrating how can we use this plug-in into Oracle apex,

Hope this helps,
